Our weekend at the cabin

Will and I went up to the cabin this last weekend. (This is a picture of the view from the porch on Saturday evening.) The drive to Bear Lake usually takes around 2 and a half hours. Not this time! It took us 4 and a half hours to get there!!! Rediculous. We left the apartment around 6 on Friday night, figuring we'd get up there around 8:30. The freeway had a major accident right around the Layton area. We were on the freeway creeping along for about 2 hours. I thought I was going to go crazy. After we finally got out of that mess, it started raining and rained pretty much for the rest of the drive to the cabin. We got up there about 10.

Will's cousin and his wife (Max & Chelsea) are expecting there first baby in October and the family threw them a baby shower on Saturday. It was for couples, so Will came with me. We drove back down to Logan on Saturday afternoon, around 2:30, the shower was at 4. We stayed for a little while and then drove back up to the cabin. They have some pretty good little hamburger joints up there, so we wanted to stop and get some food. Well, that was a bad idea, needless to say.. We ended up pretty sick. I don't know exactly what it was from, but think it was food poisoning. Or the food just didn't agree with us or something... We spent Sunday being bums, and left for home around 6.
It was pretty chilly outside on Saturday night. We were just relaxing on the porch and cuddled up in blankets. It was really nice. I am really glad that we got the opportunity to get away for a weekend with no one around. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

On Saturday night around midnight or so, it started storming again, and Will woke up to try and take some pictures of the lightning. It was such a sight! Being that close to all the lightning was really cool! Will was only able to get one picture of it, but it turned out really well. It was so neat. I wish that we could have captured more pictures of the lightning. . .

This was a picture from the drive home. What a pretty lake. So blue.

Well, I guess it's time to go. I'll post more later...
